Photojournale : Photo documentary and photo journal stories from around the world

Morgan Hagar

Independent photojournalist Morgan Hagar grew up outside Houston, Texas. While studying at Brooks Institute of Photography, Mr. Hagar held a weekend staff photographer position at the Santa Barbara News-Press. After being the first to graduate from the renowned Visual Journalism program at Brooks, he took a Photo Editor position at the Ventura County Reporter. Later, he left to pursue his dream of reporting on conflicts within humanity through in-
depth photo essays.

His work has taken him to various spots around the world. In Israel and Palestine, hereported on the construction of the Wall surrounding the West Bank Territories. He followed a humanitarian aid mission to a small village named Pantanal in Nicaragua and reported on vanishing cultures in Mexico. His most recent work has centered around issues affecting North America; the mourning of New Yorkers one year after 9-11, civilian vigilantes along the California/Mexico Border, and currently, slow death brought on by poverty, drugs and homelessness on the streets of downtown Los Angeles.

The vision of Morgan Hagar is basic; he will bear witness to human events and share those stories with the world so that humanity can see itself for better or worse.

Mr. Hagar is represented by World Picture News and makes his home inside a secluded compound deep in the jungle of Los Angeles, California.
