    <description><![CDATA[A woman prepares manioc for producing manioc flour. "Casas de farinha", flour houses, are still common in some smaller towns. This one is half way between Recife, capital of Pernambuco state, and Caruaru, a small city that hosts one famous spice and food market, the "Feira de Caruaru". Wheat flour is widely used in Northeastern Brazil, along with "carne de sol" ("sun meat" - a dry, salty steak), beans and cheese. Inside the flour house, I`ve been asked on the nature of my interests: "why do you like to photograph poverty? Do you think it is beautiful?"]]></description>
