A massive barge (ING 4727) lies stranded in the lower 9th Ward near Claiborne Ave. An ongoing investigation is attempting to determine if the barge caused the breach of the levee at this location, or if it was subsequently drawn in by the rising water. Residents have reported, that when adrift the barge literally razed entire houses off their foundation. |
